Nina and Andreas traveled to Maui from Germany for their elopement, and we were so blessed to have been able to create this amazing day for them. Their original wedding date was to be March 16th, but the weather that day, although rainbow-filled, did not agree with that plan. Tori offered an alternative to this easy-going couple since the following day, the lucky day of St. Patrick’s Day, was predicted to be a sunny day. March 17th proved to be the sunny day as promised, and a perfect barefoot on the beach wedding was held at Po’olenalena Beach, officiated by the great Kahu Kimo Kirkman.
Wedding planner Tori Rogers surprised the couple with a colorful flower circle in a private little corner of the beach. Others on the beach were a respectful audience, and marveled as the ceremony and photos took place.
The ceremony opened with the pu, or Hawaiian Conch Shell, ceremony and an oli chant. The crafty bride created a handmade paper flower bouquet that safely made the trip from Germany to Hawaii. The rings were kept in the most adorable plastic macaron containers. Fragrant tuberose leis were used for the lei exchange ceremony. There was no doubt that Nina and Andreas were in love, as they kissed and held hands every chance they had.
After the lei exchange ceremony and ring exchange ceremony, the couple exchanged personalized vows in German.
The couple’s happy smiles radiated as brightly as the sun that morning, and everyone around them could feel their love for each other. The wedding vows were sealed with a romantic kiss as the officiant concluded the ceremony with the blowing of the Hawaiian conch shell. One of the 2016 trends is to change tradition, and the couple did just that when the groom signed his new last name on the marriage license. That’s right…the GROOM is changing his last name to the BRIDE’S last name.
We just loved our bride’s tattoo on her foot that told the story of the couple’s engagement in the Seychelles. Tori provided the Just Maui’d and Mr. & Mrs. signs as photo props.
Nina and Andreas were romantic and playful during their beach photos.
Some fun photo ops at the beach…
Nina wrote to us recently and had the most wonderful things to say: Dear Tori, I am so sorry for not writing back to your lovely email earlier! We are completely caught back in the treadmill of work and daily routine
Last week we had an appointment at our german registry office and since one week we are legally married in Germany, too. Andreas now has to get new IDs with his new name and inform all the insurances and people who need to know
We printed some of your photos and every time we look at them we state that this was THE perfect weddingday for us, thanks to you and your perfect preparation! I wish I could get married every year, this was so much fun and there are so much more nice dresses to wear
Of course I will write as much lovely reviews as possible, and should ever one of our friends think of getting married in Hawaii, I will highly recommend you and your team. This day will stay in our hearts forever, thank you so much for that!
Kind regards, Nina and Andreas
