Nikki and Mike had a gorgeous wedding reception at the Sugarman Estate (now the Ponomakena Sanctuary). This modern tropical was as sentimental as it was beautiful. While impressed by the stylish aesthetics of the day, there was not a dry eye during the very personalized, heartfelt ceremony officiated by their close friend. Nikki and Mike thoughtfully planned every guest-centric detail with Tori Rogers of Celebrations by Tori dba/Hawaii Weddings by Tori Rogers, including Ululani's Shave Ice,
Painted pineapples, farm wood furniture, and colorful tropical flowers created a gorgeous tablescape and
aesthetic thanks to Dellables Floral Artistry and Pacific Isle Rentals (now Accel). Each bridesmaid had a bouquet slightly different from the other while still adhering to the tropical theme.
Getting Ready Photos
THE FIRST LOOK
THE CEREMONY
POST CEREMONY PORTRAITS Planning Tip-We recommend scheduling your group photo to take place right after the ceremony before everyone heads to the cocktail reception because that will be the last time everyone will be together at the same time. It will be challenging to make sure everyone is around later because of drinks, bathroom breaks, fun songs that get them on the dance floor, etc.
THE DETAILS- Wedding Tip-Be sure to leave a moment for your photographer to capture the details of your wedding before they are disturbed by the rush of guests to their seats.
COCKTAIL RECEPTION Guests enjoyed the best shave ice on the island from Ululani's.
Wedding tip- if you are at a venue where you can offer some flavored rums or other alcohol to adult your treat, your guests might enjoy their shave ice even more!
While guests enjoy cocktails, pupu's and shave ice, the wedding party took photos together. Tori made sure that the wedding party did not miss out on the drinks by getting their orders in advance and having the bartender prepare them during the ceremony. Plates of appetizers were also prepared and served to the wedding party while they posed for photos.
THE GOLDEN HOUR
That hour before sunset is the Golden Hour when the lighting is perfect for photos. Maui is known for their gorgeous sunsets, and this night's sunset did not disappoint.
THE RECEPTION LOVE is illuminated on the dessert table because this couple is deeply in love, which anyone can see when they look at each other. It was dreamy!
The romance and fun continued in a clear top tent under the glow of twinkle lights. It was like dining and dancing under the stars!
Mike and Nikki replaced the traditional wedding cake with the most mouth-watering malasadas from Sugar Beach Bakery.
